Doom 3 expansion pack announced

The terror continues in Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil.

iD Software have announced an official expansion pack for Doom 3 titled Resurrection of Evil. Doom 3 is already the fastest selling PC game ever in the US, so this expansion pack is certainly a guaranteed hit. Resurrection of Evil is being co-developed by Nerve Software and id Software and will take place after the events in Doom 3. The pack features new locations, characters and weapons, including the return of the double-barrelled shotgun. However, the best news is that Resurrection of Evil also features improved multiplayer action with support for up to eight players in all new maps. The original’s limit to four players in multiplayer was probably one of the few disappointing aspects of this great game.

”Now that fans have survived the horrors and edge of your seat action of the original, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil delivers players deeper into the heart of the UAC to uncover new secrets and technology used to destroy the demon force that's Hell-bent on destroying you,” states Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software.

Something tells me that the christian churches will be going nuts with the expansion's title...
