Win Star Trek Online closed beta access
We've five keys for the closed beta of Star Trek Online to give away. (WINNERS ANNOUNCED)
Cryptic's Star Trek Online will give you what no other Star Trek game has been able to give you - your very own role in the Star Trek universe. And of course your very own spaceship, too.
As Captain you both get to fight huge space battles (yes, there will be Borg qubes) and to lead away missions with your officers on tons of planets. As you progress in the game you get access to more advanced and bigger ships while you watch the interesting story unfold that once again sees the Federation at war.
Win a beta key
Thanks to our friends at Cryptic and Free Form Communications we have five exclusive keys for the upcoming closed beta.
In order to win one of the keys you have to provide us with the best closed caption for the screenshot below following these guidelines:
1. The captions have to be related to Star Trek
2. The captions must mention at least one Star Trek character from the series/movies
3. A little humour doesn't hurt...
Send the text along with your real name and postal address to
competition@boomtown.net, please mark your email "Star Trek Online Competition".
The Small Print
This competition closes on Monday November 23rd 2009 at midday and is open to Star Trek fans over the age of 18. One entry per person.
The prize winners will be chosen by the Boomtown staff. Please read our competition
terms & conditions.
Winners will be announced on this page within seven days of the competition closing.
Competition Now Closed - Winners have been announced
Congratulations to the five winners of a closed beta access each. The winners will receive a mail with the closed beta key as soon as the next wave of beta players get invites. In no particular order:
Ryan Maguhn, Canada "Assimilate the mess that Porthos left on the deck plates...you hunk of Borg Junk!!!"
Chris Stevenson, UK "Hell hath no Wrath (of Khan) like a woman vs borg"
James Barker, UK “I said NO! No assimilating on the first date! Annika Hansen was right about you, Borg do make terrible boyfriends. You only think about one thing!”
David Anderson, Scotland "The Picard Maneuver. It doesn't just work in space"
Martin Toomey, UK "Take that, you 7 of 9 wanna be”
Thanks to all who have taken part.
They said they were announcing the winner here within 7 days of the competition closing, and they didn't, then they edited the article to not mention that. And now its *at some point in time*, meaning we have to keep coming back here wondering when the *bleep* we are going to find out if we are the *bleep* in the *bleeping* name by *bleep* a horse with *bleep*?
It still says that winners were to be announced in seven days by the way. Not to say that I am not another one just waiting for who will be the winners, because I am definitely hoping I get a key

Oh well... I thought it was funny.
N3CR0, I don't think there's any violation if the whole name isn't given. That's why when winners are listed ya always see something like "Robert S. of GA"
Well, you can Jean Luc "Pic"ard your arse up off the floor.
Mama said "Spock" you out.
Look, I tried to be nice, but apparently that isn't working. For the last time: I do not know 7 of 9 and I will not set you up on a date with her!
Stop nanoprobing my ass!, what kind of BORG QUEEN are you anyway?
"No No No, Dr Crusher said it was step kick step twirl!"
"Geez...even Mezoti put up more of a fight than this!"
