More Modern Warfare PC woes

The PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will only feature 18 player maps.

As if the news that there would be no dedicated server support for Modern Warfare 2 on PC wasn't enough, Infinity Ward has revealed just how far the PC version has been gimped down to the level of the console game.

Infinity Ward's Mackey McCandlish told a Best Buy chat that capping the game to nine versus nine helped the team perfect perks, map sizes, classes and the like.

He also revealed this figure of 18 players would be the focus for the series in future.

One wonders if it would be best PC gamers just giving up and playing on Xbox Live or PSN, but then that's like dipping your toe in a cesspool.

i've played only a limited amount of FPS's on the console. killzone 2 because it's console only and looked good, and it was. and then the new borderlands, only because my pc is crap and cant run it, ordered a new pc a few days ago though, should be here anytime now.

Smaller devs will fill the gap eventually. It's how it always works. They see an opportunity and go for it-we give them money and help them grow if their effort is good enough. Simples! ;p
