Could Modern Warfare 2 sell 14 million?
Analyst Michael Pachter expects great things of Activision's sequel-sequel.
Wedbush Morgon games industry analyst Michael Pachter believes that Modern Warfare 2 is likely to be a massive success, with as many as 14 million units shifted in 2009 alone.
He says that while Call of Duty: World at War sold an impressive eight million in the pre-Christmas rush, Modern Warfare 2 has enormously increased brand value.
Last year sold about 8 million in the Christmas quarter, I think most people think this will do 10-12. It really depends on marketing - if they blitz the airwaves and we see ads on every basketball game, football game, college football game, every beauty Pageant ... maybe 14 million.
That's a lot of copies, at least it keeps all the annoying Live/PSN subscribers in one place and away from ruining other games.
