Multiplayer for next Assassin's Creed?

Ubisoft is sharing ideas for the next game in the series after Assassin's Creed 2.

The first two games of Assassins Creed series are single-player oriented gaming experiences focused solely on one's own abilities as a killer. However that may change with the third game in the series.

According to Ubisoft's Sebastien there's a possibility of multiplayer and even co-op modes in the later parts of the franchise.

With the Animus We have the potential to support any kind of new gameplay like that. It depends Whether Ubisoft will be willing to go this way. I'm not saying yes or no, but we'll keep thinking about it.

Whether mutliplayer will sneak into the future Assassins Creed titles, or will be found in future spin-off games was not revealed.

Assassin's Creed 2 is set for release on November 19th?

I think the main protagonist works better as a loner. If it's done like Uncharted 2 then it could work.
