Aliens RPG canned?

Game over man, game over.
It seems that despite a lack of official confirmation, the Obsidian-developed Aliens RPG has been cancelled.

The news comes in the LinkedIn profile of former Obsidian designer David Kondor. It describes Kondor as "designer for cancelled third-person action Aliens RPG" from April 2008 to February 2009.

That would seem to some way to confirm the rumours of the game's demise. The Aliens RPG was announced way back in 2006 but little has been heard of it since.

I'm not sure if this depresses me or not.

It was an exciting concept, but I knew so little that it never evolved beyond foundational interest.

It's almost like The Lottery: You know you might win, but when you don't you realise you don't care nor have lost that much.

Roll on Aliens: Colonial Marines. That's where Aliens will come alive.

It could have been good if it was handled with the same panache as Mass Effect or The Witcher. I certainly aggree about Aliens: Colonial Marines. It should be awsome fun.

I will most certainly crap myself if I'm going to play Aliens: Colonial Marines.. But there's just something about those marines!
